History

Venarchie Contracting Pty Ltd, founded by Allan Virieux over 20 years ago, has grown from humble beginnings to an integrated business providing a variety of pavement solutions to governments, businesses and individuals across Tasmania.

From a two man crew utilizing a small excavator and truck in 1989 to employing over 70 staff, maintaining over 200 pieces of plant & equipment and owning a state-of-art asphalt plant in 2010, Venarchie’s growth has been organic and expediential.

The development of an integrated business model that owns specialist divisions which complement each other in the pavement industry is the defining plan that has underlain the growth of the company and is the driving force for the future.

Values

Although Venarchie has grown substantially over the last 20 years, the company ethos remains based on family values and ethical behaviour. "Our people are our company and the challenge is to retain this ethos as we grow" is Allan's motto.

This motto has enabled Venarchie to develop an outstanding reputation with its clients for reliability, excellence in customer service and consistently delivering a quality product on time and within budget.

The company is committed to striving for continuous improvement of quality, systems and processes through innovation, technology and its people.

Venarchie takes its Occupational, Health and Safety policy seriously and believes that the company is accountable for safety, employees are responsible for working safely and working safely is a condition of employment.

Certification

Venarchie carries a current certification by QMS, under the Civil Construction Federation Construction Management Code, inclusive of Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety and Quality Management.

The scope of works for this certification is asphalt, sealing, earthworks, major and minor road reconstruction, subdivisional roadwork, freeway construction, road maintenance, stormwater and outfall drainage, water reticulation and renewal, sewer reticulation and renewal, gas reticulation, large pipe construction, kerbing and concrete paving, block and other paving, plant hire, quarrying and demolition .

Venarchie is currently registered with The Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources for R3 (road works to $3m) and S3 (sealing works to $3m)
